Our story starts in our founders home. A dream of creating activewear to fill in the gaps in the already packed market, she believed there was still so much missing. TRUE inclusvity in every sense of the word, items built for PERFORMANCE & design with comfort at the forefront. There were very few brands that offered sizing across the entire spectrum, petite to plus, in every style and color. Even fewer brands who took on genderless sizing so that customers can see an item they love & be able to access it while still being affirmed in who they are. We aimed to fill those gaps from the start.

Due to COVID, we like many other small businesses were faced with delay after delay. Our founder was also preparing for the 2020(1) Olympics in Tokyo, so we pushed our launch to August 2021. We launched with just 1-2 items, unsure if the public would see our vision, and sold out in the first couple of days! We could not have been more excited with the reception of our what sometimes felt like "crazy" ideas.

With all the delays, we really had the time to nail down our proprietary sizing. We created our size chart over the course of MONTHS and made sure we had a system in place to scale items to fit the proportions and shapes associated with all ranges of our size scale, while most brands scale from their middle size up/down. We know a size medium human being and a size XXS or 4X human being do not have the same proportions. And we acted accordingly.

We focused our efforts on providing more styles and more solutions to our customers. We kept our business very small, but had a few hands on deck now! All the while, the goal remained inclusivity and comfort above all else, while ensuring our impact on the environment was as minimal as possible. Compostable and biodegradable packaging & tagging across all items.

2023 was a year of change. Life changes, business changes, every possible change. Our founder took the business back to the beginning - her home. Her home became the warehouse, she became the customer service, the shipping department, the design department, the sole employee. And that is where the beauty came. The beauty of being the only one to bounce ideas off of. The beauty of communicating with every single customer and touching every single order that goes out. When running a business, there is nothing that compares to being behind all the daily operations. The business is a reflection of you and only you.

Viicaya is still run entirely out of our founders home in Pensacola, Florida, where she is the sole employee. Every order is packed with a hand addressed note & the seal of approval from the shipping manager (aka, Charlie the mildly overweight calico cat). Every design is thought up in those walls, every sample is tested (and retested) in that house, the gym and everywhere in between. It is a labor of love, but oh does bring so much love in return.
